Launching the Environmental Play "Les Aventures de Pingoo"

Under the patronage of H.E. the Minister of Energy & Water Mr. César Abi Khalil, IPT Energy Center (IPTEC) and the Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation (LCEC) supported Showbox Productions  in the launching of the French environmental play "Les Aventures de Pingoo" in a press conference at the Ministry of Energy and Water on 21 January 2017. The press conference was conveyed in the presence of the Director General of Oil Mrs. Aurore Feghali representing H.E. the Minister of Energy & Water Mr. César Abi Khalil, LCEC Director Mr. Pierre Khoury, IPTEC President Dr. Toni Issa, Founders of Showbox Productions Mrs. Maya Rahal and Mrs. Corine Estephan, and the Director of the play Mr. Gabriel Laborde, in addition to media representatives.
 
Written by Martin Boquien, "Les Aventures de Pingoo" is a creative theatrical show for children that aims to educate about the harmful effects of global warming and the solutions to fight it.
 
"Les Aventures De Pingoo" will be presented in several Lebanese schools during March 2017.
 
After a short video about the play, Mr. Khoury praised the private sector's initiative in promoting awareness to the Lebanese youth about global warming and the best ways to fight it.
 
Dr. Issa highlighted the important role of the Ministry of Energy & Water and LCEC in supporting such educational projects, while focusing again on IPTEC's commitment to promote energy conservation and sustainability though similar dissemination and awareness activities.
 
Founders of Showbox Productions Mrs. Rahal and Mrs. Estephan explained that "Les Aventures De Pingoo" is a play brought from France that deals with an important topic in a professional yet simple way addressed to school students. 
 
The play director Mr. Laborde pointed out to the artistic background of the play and the ability of the comedians to use their humor to effectively illustrate the message.
 
The Director General of Oil Mrs. Feghali expressed the Ministry’s full support to this initiative and all projects related to the preservation of natural resources and the promotion of energy sustainability. She shed light on the role of the private sector in planning and organizing such projects, especially IPTEC that has been engaged since its inception in researches and activities about environment preservation and the use of clean, alternative and renewable energy solutions. At last, Mrs. Feghali congratulated Showbox Productions for bringing this play to Lebanon and making it accessible to young students.
