IPTEC Session in IBEF 2018: "Transition Towards Sustainable Transport Solutions"

"Since 2014, IPTEC has partnered with IBEF to raise awareness on sustainable solutions that can reduce energy consumption and to fight the detrimental effects of air pollution on our health and environment resulting particularly from the land transport sector in Lebanon", says the President of IPT Energy Center (IPTEC) Dr. Toni Issa.

Why IBEF
IBEF (International Beirut Energy Forum) has become the yearly awaited forum that discusses all topics related to renewable energy and energy efficiency. "Digitalization in Sustainable Energy: Expanding the Investment Frontiers" is the theme of IBEF 2018, and is expected to attract more than 1,500 key energy people from Lebanon, the Arab World, and the international community.

IPTEC Session in IBEF 2018
This year, IPTEC is participating in IBEF 2018 in a session entitled "Transition towards a Sustainable Land Transport" organized in collaboration with the UNDP, MoEW, USEK, and PAC/Harb Electric. The session will take place on the 26th of September at Le Royal Dbayeh.

About the Session
"Transition Towards a Sustainable Land Transport" will discuss the transition towards a sustainable, clean and energy efficient transport system in Lebanon, and will feature interventions on sustainable transportation, biodiesel production and use, and electric vehicles & solar electric vehicles chargers, among others.

Agenda of the Session:

• Address of Mr. Edgard Chehab, Assistant Resident Representative, UNDP Lebanon
• Announcement of the results of the studies carried out by the Ministry of Energy & Water and the United Nations Development Program:
• “Cost-Benefit Analysis for the Use of Natural Gas in the Lebanese Transport Sector” by Dr. Charbel Mansour, Energy Expert and University Professor, UNDP SODEL                         Project, Lebanon
         • “Options for Low Carbon Fuel Use in Lebanon” by Dr. Marc Haddad, Energy Expert in Technology Management and Policy, Lebanon
