Lawyers Institute at the Beirut Bar Association organized a webinar on the "Reality of the Energy Sector in Lebanon", featuring Dr. Toni Issa, the President of the Energy and Water Committee at the BBA and Board Member of IPT Group. As part of the learning series for lawyers in training, the Bar hosted this webinar on Zoom, along with the participation of Maitre Gaby Daaboul, Board Member of the Lebanese Petroleum Administration LPA.
In his intervention, Dr. Issa covered the realities of the energy sector, discussing its different aspects from import and distribution, exploration and drilling of natural gas, as well as electricity, renewable energy, and water. The discussion was aimed at discussing the relevant legislation and legal texts relevant to the sector. Dr. Issa also highlighted the reasons for the multiple challenges faced in the Energy Sector in Lebanon, and why they remain persistent throughout the years. The webinar was concluded by taking a look at the applicable ideas and potential opportunities that are much needed in trying to find solutions and improvements.
