Congratulations to the 4 winners of the "Berytech e-Hackathon 2020"- Cleantech edition, organized by Berytech, co-funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Lebanon, and supported by IPT Energy Center (IPTEC).
Dr. Toni Issa, President of IPTEC, joined the 1st edition of this online Hackathon as a jury member, evaluating the ideas and helping select the winning projects. This event was IPTEC's second hackathon experience. IPTEC had also organized in 2018 "the First Urb-Hackathon in Lebanon after France & Korea" addressing the special theme of "Data-Urbanism: Reducing City Air Pollution from Transport".
The Berytech e-Hackathon is a 4-day event that brought together more than 21 teams and included engineers, innovators, entrepreneurs, and young professionals from various backgrounds. These participants were able to learn, validate, hack and pitch their cleantech business ideas through focusing on technology and tackling challenges in Water, Wastewater management, Waste, and Energy guided by industry experts. They identified real challenges facing the cleantech sector, learned how to transform their idea into a valid business solution, and prototype the solution within 30 hours.
