President of IPT Energy Center (IPTEC) Interviewed on Renewable Energy

In light with the pollution crisis that Lebanon is witnessing, Dr. Toni Issa, President of IPT Energy Center (IPTEC) was interviewed by the National News Agency on "The Benefits of Renewable Energy: The Solution To Reach a Pollution Free Environment".

In his interview, Dr. Issa highlighted IPT's commitment to energy sustainability mainly through its Energy Center IPTEC that successfully fulfills the company's Corporate Social Responsibility. He assured that IPTEC is actively striving to enhance knowledge on energy conservation and efficient energy use to reduce environmental pollution resulting from the use of energy sources, and promote the use of clean, alternative and renewable energy solutions. He confirmed the company's green strategy that translates into various initiatives such as:

• The introduction of the Advanced eco-friendly Fuel Quantum to the Lebanese market
• The installation of a Photovoltaic System and solar water heaters on the roof of the company's headquarters in Amchit as well as many IPT Stations in order to reduce pollution and conserve energy
• The strict safety measures the company follows to protect its people, its surroundings and the environment
• Launching the eco-driving campaign to the Lebanese youth- the drivers of the future
• Organizing annual Fabriano Drawing Contest on different themes related to environment preservation
• Launching the environmental play "Les Aventures De Pingoo"
• Organizing the Energy Awareness Awards (EAA) that recognizes public and private institutions and individuals for significant contributions to energy sustainability in Lebanon
• Organizing the First Urb-Hackathon in Lebanon and the Middle East, under the theme of “Data-urbanism: Reducing City Air Pollution from Transport”
• Signing an MOU with USEK on the Installation of a Pilot Plant for the Production of Biodiesel from Waste Cooking Oil (WCO)
• Organizing, participating, and sponsoring several workshops, seminars, forums and events about "Road Transport Sector and Air Pollution in Lebanon" 

Then, Dr. Issa stressed on the importance of the partnerships between governmental and non-governmental organizations, and between the private sector and civil society to implement collaborative green projects, such as IPT and IPTEC's successful partnerships with the UNDP, ESCWA, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Energy & Water, LCEC, Showbox Productions, GCNL, e-EcoSolutions, Fabriano, La Cite Des Sciences at De L'Industrie- Paris, USEK University, and many more...

At last, Dr. Issa confirmed IPT and IPTEC's vision to contribute to a greener environment, and showcased (announced) a series of future projects in this regard.
