IPT’s Green Approach towards the environment was highlighted in the latest issue of “Al-Iktissad Wal Aamal” magazine.
IPT’s technical director at the safety & environment department, Eng. Jean-Marc Roche, went through the initiatives taken directly by IPT and through its specialized research center IPTEC to preserve the environment and reduce air pollution from energy use in Lebanon. He explained the measures implemented by the company to ensure safe and eco-friendly gas stations and facilities where all operations are fully compliant with international safety standards. He also stressed IPT’s contribution through the work of IPTEC towards a safer environment through conducting studies and scientific research around the energy sector.
In this respect, he pointed out to the expected initiation of the “National Campaign for Air Pollution Reduction in Lebanon through Efficient Energy Use in Land Transportation” in September 2014. The campaign was launched earlier in 2013 by IPTEC with the support of the MOE, UNDP and ESCWA and includes studies, workshops and other activities intended to promote awareness on preserving the environment and reducing air pollution through efficiently using energy sources.
