In the framework of IPTEC’s collaboration with Fabriano, IPTEC team has started school visits around Lebanon to increase awareness on the importance of adopting eco-friendly behaviors while driving. This activity is driven by IPTEC’s strong belief in the youth’s ability to become Lebanon’s future eco-drivers.

The first week's visits were made to Sainte Therese school in Amioun and Ste. Famille Maronite in Jbeil on March 11 and 13, where the students expressed their interests to know more about eco-driving practices. Throughout the presentation, our team made sure to highlight the increasing problem of air pollution in Lebanon from the transportation sector and to emphasize eco-driving as one of the solutions that helps reduce harmful emissions into the air while reducing fuel consumption and protecting our health. A documentary prepared by the ESCWA followed, including helpful testimonies and easy-to-implement eco-driving tips. At the end, IPTEC team distributed eco-driving packages to all students.

Similar activities will follow in other schools to ensure the message reaches as many students as possible! Those activities will culminate in the distribution of valuable prizes to the winners who have selected eco-driving in Fabriano drawing competition!
