The United Arab Emirates says it plans to expand its current portfolio of electric power investments around the world, Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, the UAE minister of energy and infrastructure has said.

Speaking the at the opening of the second edition of the World Utilities Congress in Abu Dhabi this morning, Al Mazrouei said that the UAE was already reaping from the benefits of partnering with the private sector for power utilities projects.

The Abu Dhabi renewable energy company, Masdar, is actively operating in over 40 countries on six continents and has pledged to invest in international projects valued at more than $30 billion, with production capacity amounting to over 20 gigawatts (GW)
