Firefighting Live Maneuver At IPT & LE Terminals

Committed to implementing the highest public safety standards and an efficient (ERP) Emergency Response Plan, and in response to the official authorities’ request, in particular the Ministry of Public Works – General Directorate of Land and Maritime Transport, with the aim of ensuring that the company is fully prepared to face any emergency; 

IPT organized on 26/11/2022 a live firefighting maneuver at IPT and Lebanon Energy (LE) Terminals  in Amchit, under the supervision of the Civil Defense represented by the Regional Director in Byblos District Mr. Chakib Ghanem, Head of the Civil Defense - Jounieh branch Mr. Elie El Khoury, Head of the Civil Defense  - Jbeil branch Mr. Makhoul Bou Younes, with the presence of External Parties: Her Excellency the Deputy Governor of Byblos Mrs. Nathalie Merhi Khoury, the President of the Red Cross - Jbeil branch, Mrs. Randa Al Kallab and the Vice President Mr. Gabi Khalil, the Head of the Lebanese Army Intelligence- Byblos, Colonel Charles Nohra, commander of  Byblos gendarmerie (Acting) Major Michael El Khoury, the Head of the Customs Office in IPT-Amchit Mr. Toni Aad. 

The maneuver program included at first a documentary covering the safety & protection measures, advanced firefighting systems at IPT and LE storage facilities, strict safety measures for visitors in both facilities, brief explanation of firefighting scenario with relevant emergency evacuation of staff. Then, a tour was taken around both terminals, storage facilities and firefighting systems, and was concluded with the implementation of the live firefighting maneuver.  

Overall, the well-trained firefighting teams in IPT & LE showed accuracy and professionalism in implementing the emergency response plan (ERP) within the specified time and required skills which lead to a successful maneuver.  

Through this step, IPT proves again its dedication to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace that is compliant with the most up-to-date international safety standards.
