In a significant move towards environmental sustainability, IPT has joined forces with the Municipality of Jbeil and key stakeholders to launch the "Jbeil Towards Zero Waste" initiative. At the inaugural event, IPT, in collaboration with PEPSICO, donated five electric Tuk-tuk vehicles to support the daily collection of recyclables from local restaurants and cafes.
IPT's involvement in this project is part of a broader commitment to sustainable environmental initiatives across Lebanon, with a particular focus on the Jbeil region. As part of this ongoing effort, IPT collaborated with Lebanon Waste Management (LWM) and Mr. Pierre Baaklini to reopen the recycling facility in Jbeil, revitalizing waste sorting activities in the area. Additionally, IPT introduced a waste drop-off center, the "Drive-Throw," at its Fidar station, which has played a pivotal role in promoting the culture of source separation and raising environmental awareness among the local community.
The introduction of electric Tuk-Tuks further enhances these efforts, facilitating the transport of sorted waste to the recycling facility and enhancing the collection of recyclables from nearby establishments.
This initiative will soon expand to the Amchit area, reinforcing IPT's commitment to fostering a zero-waste culture in the Jbeil region.
