IPT Leads the Way in Sustainability Reporting

On the 8th of January 2025, the UNDP and Lebanon's Ministry of Environment hosted a panel discussion titled "Planning through Crisis: Climate Progress and Challenges," focusing on Lebanon's efforts to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. The event featured remarks from Minister Dr. Nasser Yassin and UNDP’s Blerta Aliko, with participants from various sectors, including embassies, ministries, NGOs, and academia. Discussions centered on Lebanon’s progress towards meeting its NDC targets, sustainable development strategies, and the critical role of private sector engagement and innovative financing.

The session concluded with the distribution of certificates to stakeholders from different sectors who reported on their greenhouse gas emissions (GHG). Hasmig Khoury, IPT's sustainability consultant, and Alexa Maria El Hed, Head of Sustainability, received a certificate on behalf of IPT, recognizing the company for reporting on their GHG emissions. This milestone highlights IPT’s commitment to transparency and accountability in supporting Lebanon’s climate goals, especially being the first energy company in Lebanon to report on its emissions.
The event emphasized the importance of continued efforts to reduce emissions, adapt to climate challenges, and promote sustainable financing. IPT's recognition underscores its dedication to environmental responsibility and its active role in Lebanon’s transition to a sustainable, low-emission future.
