IPT hosted an impactful awareness session at its headquarters in Amchit, reaffirming its ongoing commitment to social and environmental responsibility. Aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and ISO 14001 standards, the session focused on addressing key sustainability challenges and exploring innovative solutions.
The event featured three insightful presentations. The first presentation, led by Salah Saliba from the USAID Water Sanitation and Conservation (WSC) program, covered water resource management. The discussion highlighted strategies for corporate water stewardship, efficient water use, and pollution reduction, with a focus on protecting essential resources like the Litani River, aligned with SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation.
Next, Mr. Rawad Massoud from V4 Advisors delivered a presentation on energy efficiency and conservation. The discussion explored practical solutions for adopting renewable energy, improving energy efficiency, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, supporting SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy and SDG 13: Climate Action.
The final presentation, given by Dr. Maya Nehme from the Lebanon Reforestation Initiative (LRI), covered forest restoration and biodiversity conservation. The session emphasized the importance of community engagement in sustainable forest management, in alignment with SDG 15: Life on Land.
The event concluded with an engaging Q&A session, encouraging collaboration and fostering a deeper understanding of these critical environmental issues.
