On June 11th, General Raymond Khattar, Director General of Lebanese Civil Defense, attended the inauguration ceremony of the new Civil Defense Ground Rescue Unit in Amchit. During the event, Michel Issa Foundation (MIF) funded by IPT, donated an ambulance to the Civil Defense Center in Jbeil District.
The ceremony showcased IPT’s advanced firefighting system through a live drill and featured a separate maritime rescue drill by the Amchit Maritime Rescue Unit. The event began with a documentary highlighting the rigorous safety and protection measures at IPT and LE storage facilities, including advanced firefighting systems and strict visitor safety protocols. Attendees also received a detailed briefing on the firefighting scenario, covering emergency evacuation procedures.
After the session, participants had the opportunity to tour IPT terminals, inspect the storage facilities, and witness live demonstrations of the firefighting systems. The highlight was a live firefighting maneuver by IPT and LE’s firefighting teams, demonstrating their precision and adherence to the Emergency Response Plan (ERP) within the specified time frame. This event emphasized IPT’s commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment, aligned with the highest international safety standards.
