In The Media: IPTEC Runs The Beirut Marathon To Promote "Eco-Driving"

On November 9th 2014, IPT Energy Center (IPTEC)’s team headed by MP Mr. Simon Abi Ramia (Head of Youth and Sport Committee) and Ms. Aline Lahoud (Koun Eco-driver Campaign Ambassador) took part in the Beirut Marathon "10 KM Run for a Cause" category in support of KUNHADI Association. This initiative falls within IPTEC’s "National Awareness Campaign on eco-driving in Lebanon" that was successfully launched on September 15th 2014. IPTEC’s partnership with the Beirut Marathon association translates the campaign’s core values that of encouraging and promoting healthier and non-motorized means of transportation in an attempt to reduce air pollution caused by land transportation.

Parallel to the Marathon, IPTEC’s team and mascots (Eco-leaf and Pollumonster) present at IPTEC tent at the starting point of the race during this all day-long of activities, fun, sports, and quizzes about eco-driving were also keen on interacting with the general public of all age to draw their attention on the necessity of becoming an eco-driver and on the different steps to follow, along with winning many valuable prizes from IPTEC.

At last, IPTEC team was dedicated to the distribution of the eco-driving licenses at the finish line to all race participants as a reference for the campaign in order to encourage them to adopt this beneficial eco-friendly driving behavior.
