IPTEC Receives "Public Awareness’’ Award
On Saturday December 1, First Protocol held the 2nd Annual Social Economics Award ceremony in Casino Du Liban, in the presence of ministers, economic figures, the media, and the official partners BDL & Bank Audi.

IPTEC ( IPT Energy Center) was awarded the Social Economic Award (SEA) for the "Public Awareness" category during the main attraction of the event, where twelve organizations were ceremoniously honored for their contribution in the Social & Economic field by presenting them with the SEA in corresponding categories.

IPTEC received this award for its National Campaign for Air Pollution Reduction in Lebanon through efficient energy use in land transportation, that was launched with the support of the Ministry of Environment, ESCWA and UNDP. Dr. Saad Andary, the Second Vice-Governor of the Banque du Liban, presented the award by saying: "A unique collaboration between the public and private sectors. An awareness campaign aimed at energy conservation, and the use of renewable energy and the reduction of pollution in road transport. Thus advertising campaigns and workshops to spread this culture and strengthen awareness. And the initiator is IPT, a fuels and flammables company." Board Member of IPT Group and President of IPTEC Dr. Toni Issa thanked both the Ministry of Environment and ESCWA in his acceptance speech for their support and collaboration on the National Campaign, and showed IPTEC and IPT's commitment to complete this project and achieve the set goals of reducing air pollution from land transportation through public awareness. Governor of Bank Du Liban Mr. Riad Salameh addressed the attendees at the great gala event, stressing the importance of a bigger role for the private sector in social and beneficiary events, especially that Lebanon needs to improve its performance through the help of the private sector because the resources and capabilities of the government is limited. He added that this participation has given people great hope, adding that these institutions are carrying out their work in accordance with scientific rules and away from politicizing these services and assistances.
