In The Media: IPTEC Launching its National Campaign for Air Pollution Reduction

On Thursday October 11, 2012, the Environment Minister Nazem Khoury urged promoting the culture of preserving the environment so that, in turn, we preserve the nation. "Spreading this culture is no longer an option it is an obligation we ought to fulfill," Khoury said during his patronage to the launching ceremony of the “National Campaign for Air Pollution Reduction in Lebanon through Efficient Energy Use in Land Transportation”.

The campaign promotes the rationalization of energy within land transportation. The event took place in presence of IPTEC head Tony Issa and the ESCWA Director Roula Majdalani along with UNDP representatives and other economic and social figures. Scroll down to check video and album.

"The quality of air is among the main axes of attention of the Ministry as every citizen is entitled to a clean and healthy air," Khoury said. The Minister shed light on the importance of supporting such initiative deeming transportation sector to be among the main causes of pollution in Lebanon. On behalf of the Ministry, Khoury expressed appreciation to the IPT's setting up and organization of this event.
