Partnering Together for a Better Future

In an unprecedented initiative in Lebanon, McDonald's Lebanon and IPT have signed a Memorandum of Understanding announcing a partnership between the food sector and the oil sector.  

The announcement was made during a press conference held in the Conference Room at Hotel Habtoor Sin el Fil, under the patronage of the President of the Federation of the Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Lebanon, Mr. Mohammed Choucair, and in the presence of the CEO and the General Manager of McDonald's Lebanon, respectively Mr. Akram Miknas and Mr. Rashwan Miknas, the CEO of IPT Group Mr. Michel Issa, and the member of the Board of Directors, Dr. Toni Issa, in addition to the President of the Association of Franchise Companies in Lebanon, Mr. Charles Arbid and the president of the Federation of Companies importing Fuels Maroun Chammas. 

The press conference ended with the ceremony of signature of the Memorandum of Understanding between the parties. This MOU plans to dedicate a joint action plan between the relevant parties to open a series of McDonald's restaurants in IPT network stations and to spare no effort with the competent authorities to update current laws and systems related to gas stations allowing them to integrate easily a cookery service as is the case in western countries, while cooperating closely with the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Lebanon, which encourages strongly such partnerships prone to boost economic recovery, growth and prosperity.

          

 

McDonald's Overview

McDonald's opened its first restaurant in Lebanon in September1998. Today, there are 18 restaurants employing more than 600 Lebanese throughout the country, the latest restaurant located in Dekwaneh in an IPT station.

McDonald's Lebanon is owned by Miknas Food SAL – Trading, Mr. Akram Miknas, Chairman of the Board and Mr. Rashwan Miknas, Managing Director.

McDonald's started a partnership with IPT and is still in the process of rapidly growing to get closer to all its loyal customers hungry for its delicious meals.

McDonald’s Lebanon believes that giving back to the community is one of its most essential roles. Every year McDonald’s sponsors social activities and events and hosts free lunches for thousands of orphans and children in need from across Lebanon. McDonald’s Lebanon is always interested in sports activities, for that purpose it sponsors every year a football team to participate in the Norway Cup, the 4th largest sport event worldwide. McDonald’s keeps proving the brand’s commitment to its family and to the local community by organizing contests based on the belief that greatness can only be achieved through the dedication and support of a company's people. Voice of McDonald’s is a contest created in 2007 is designed to honor the outstanding talent of McDonald’s restaurants employees, inviting them all to participate and reveal their singing talent.
