Michel Issa Foundation for Local Development (MIF) has collaborated with the Fishermen Cooperation in Amchit to place the Statue of Our Lady of the Seas on top of Amchit seaport to guide the sailors and fishermen back safely. Preparations are underway and the inauguration is expected to take place soon this summer.
This initiative comes in line with MIF's contribution to local development as it motivates local sailors to remain in their hometowns and pursue their fishing profession being their main source of income, while also promoting traditions and culture in the area.
Established in Amchit, Michel Issa Foundation for Local Development (MIF) is dedicated to enhance the capacity of the local community through the planning and implementation of development projects in coordination with local authorities, municipalities and the civil society.
